According to the legend, a pagan prisoner was held in Yedikule and subjected to torment. As a result of this torment, the pagans cursed the place. This led to the belief that the tortured spirits in Yedikule would one day come back to life. Some even say that on certain nights, Latin voices can be heard from Yedikule.
